In 2006, Tim Hardcastle and Derek Hill had been working as business technology practitioners and leaders in senior positions up to Operating Board level in FTSE 100 and 250 businesses.

Both held a passionate belief that frequently, the freedom and benefits promised by both business-centric technology products and service providers, was rarely, if ever, delivered. Results were not in the lexicon of the language, cost time and complexity were.

Rather than being an enabler, technology and business process was actively inhibiting business’s ability to achieve vital strategic outcomes.

Their many years of experience as practitioners in formative years working as part of client side mixed teams, and later on employing external consultants did little to convince them that this challenge was likely to be effectively addressed any time soon.

With a determination to resolve the glaring gap in expectations, the client side frustrations and inability of service providers to truly deliver value due to ( their) inhibiting business models, a profound belief surfaced. Better was not only possible but essential.

In the venturing spirit that has set them apart ever since, they bravely strode out and devised a new business and service model for the UK market. And F2X was born.
